A much bigger canvas changes what works
Scribe’s 10.2 inch display runs at 1860 × 2480 pixels, 300 ppi, in grayscale, by far the largest canvas of any Kindle. Where a small screen like the entry-level Kindle rewards simple, high-contrast images, Scribe has room for the opposite: fine detail, texture, and busier compositions actually hold up here.
The tradeoff is that Scribe is less forgiving of a low-resolution source image. A photo that looks fine on a 6 inch screen can show its limits once it’s stretched across a screen this large, so it’s worth uploading the highest-quality version of your image you have.
Only the 2022 Scribe is supported right now
CoverLock currently sizes images for the original Scribe (1st Gen, 2022), at 1860 × 2480 pixels. Amazon has since released a redesigned Scribe with an 11 inch screen, but Amazon hasn’t published its exact pixel dimensions, so CoverLock can’t build a correctly sized file for it yet. It isn’t selectable in the device list above.
